Denver’s guide covers designated dog parks, leashed parks and patios for an outdoor coffee stop. Barnum Dog Park, Berkeley Dog Park and Kennedy Dog Park are City of Denver designated off-leash parks; dogs remain leashed while entering, leaving and elsewhere. Skyline Park is a downtown linear park with a designated subsection, while Cafe Miriam City Park and Cafe Miriam Uptown identify their patios as dog-friendly. Improper City also permits leashed pets on its outdoor patio.

Denver Parks & Recreation says dogs and other pets must be leashed and under physical control in the city’s parks. Off-leash activity is allowed only inside a city-designated dog park, with leashes required while entering and leaving. Denver Animal Protection requires you to pick up and immediately remove dog waste from property that is not your own, whether public or private. At the cafes in this guide, plan to sit on the patio with your dog; indoors is for service animals only where the cafe says so.
